For even the strongest of parents, being informed that your child is seriously ill and will require significant medical interventions and time away from family and friends is deeply emotionally and mentally challenging.
Our vision to offer hands-on mental health and wellbeing support to families via Mental Health and Wellbeing Family Support Workers will soon be a reality! In conjunction with Leeds Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust we are kicking off a process to recruit and train suitably qualified and experienced individuals for the wards and clinics, getting to know our families, supporting children with life threatening non cancerous conditions.
We are also extending our volunteer-base with voluntary roles for an administrator, community and events co-ordinator and general volunteers.
